How to Resize an Image
The first problem many people run into is how to resize an image to go on the bulletin board (BB). An image must be less than 500 KB for the AMS BB. Here is a way to do this.

I found a free program that does simple image modification and is available for Windows, Mac, and even the iPad. Not the only option but one that will work. You can download this from:

http://www.nchsoftware.com/photoeditor/i...7Aod5SwAVQ

Once you have that installed open the picture you wish to resize with that program. Looking at the picture below (you may want to click on it to see a larger version of the image), click on "Edit" (circled in red), then select "Resize" (circled in blue). You will get the resize options circled in green. If you change "Units" from pixels to inches, set the largest dimension to 4 inches and the pixels per inch to 300 you will get a picture that is pretty close to what you will need.

The next step is to save the image. Refer to the picture below. You get to this dialog by selecting "File" and then "save As". As in the picture below make sure you have "Joint Photographic Experts Group" (that is jpeg format) selected in the region circled in green. Also not the estimated size. You want this to be less than 500. If it is not you can compress the image further by using the slider in the blue circle. Save the image and you are ready to insert the image into a BB post.
